iC3 Discontinuing Email Address for Reporting Phishing Schemes

Ironically, it appears the iC3 has fell prey to spam and will need to discontinue receiving reports via email in order to streamline the reporting process.

DISCONTINUANCE OF IC3 EMAIL ADDRESS NCUA@IC3.GOV FOR RECEIPT AND NOTIFICATION OF PHISHING SCHEMES

In an effort to streamline operations, on May 15, 2008 the IC3 will discontinue use of its email address NCUA@IC3.GOV for receiving reports of phishing schemes.

Reporting of these schemes should be accomplished following the date of this Alert by using the IC3 website's "File a Complaint" process, which is available for use when reporting any other potential cyber crime.
