Aside from having perhaps the longest blog post headline ever written, there’s a great article over at Observing Polarity regarding ten tips to help stop spam. The ten key points are listed below, but I’d highly recommend reading the full article “Ten Quick Steps To Help Stop Spam” — and that’s the short headline version.

  1. Don’t post your email address anywhere on your website.
  2. Have separate emails accounts specifically for non-business use
  3. Use a disposable email address for quick registrations
  4. Use email forwarding
  5. Use spam filters
  6. Don’t buy anything offered in Spam email
  7. Report all Spam email
  8. Get your name off email lists
  9. Carefully read privacy notices
  10. Set your Default address to “:fail:” or “:blackhole:”
